Obituary for Gladys Elizabeth Pratt
Gladys Elizabeth (Imdieke) Pratt, 87, died on February 22nd following an extended illness. Born July 12, 1927 in Bluffton, MN, the sixth of 9 children of Al and Caroline Imdieke, Gladys grew up in Valley City, ND and graduated from St. Catherine’s Catholic School. She married Robert Pratt on December 9, 1955 in Seattle and they raised seven children. She is survived by her husband and her family: children Bob, Rick (Kate), Bill (Nancy), Jane (Tim), Tom (Neda), David (Mary) and Amy (Mike); fifteen grandchildren Masha, Daniel, Erin, Kristen, Lauren, Will, Joe, Patrick, Caroline, Sarah, Brian, James, Christine, Matthew and Nathan; two great-grandchildren Seth and Ethan; brother Art and sister Lorraine. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Marina. Gladys was an avid reader, word-game enthusiast, cook, and above all a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved singing and volunteering and was active in her Catholic faith her entire life. Gladys leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion and she will be sorely missed. Funeral Mass for her will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 27th at Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Brookings. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
