Obituary for Shirley McFarland
Shirley McFarland Dec. 26, 1927 - May 16, 2010 Shirley McFarland passed away in Crescent City, CA on May 16, 2010. She was 82. Shirley was born December 26, 1927 in Cottage Grove, OR to Forest and Irma (Eusted) McGee. She married Everett McFarland in Cottage Grove on November 27, 1948. They lived there until moving to Brookings in 1958. Shirley worked in various position throughout her life including as a caregiver in local nursing home, on the bulb farms, but mostly as a foreman in the canneries. She loved camping, walking on the beach and dancing. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dalrene and Jim Dunsmore of Brookings, son, Darrell McFarland of Brookings, grandchildren, Linda, Terena, Michael and Gillian, great grandchildren, Shane, Kayla and Beau Michael, brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Dixie McGee of Myrtle Creek, OR. Following a private memorial, Shirley will be laid to rest beside her husband, Earl, at W.J. Ward Memorial Cemetery in Brookings.
