Obituary for Vera Mae Bragg
Vera Bragg, of Brookings, passed away in Gold Beach on November 1, 2011. She was 101. Vera was born May 20, 1910 in Salix, Iowa to George and Mary Ann (Trottman) Parcher, but was raised in Colorado. Following high school, Vera married Clarence William Bragg on June 10, 1929 in Amarillo, Texas. Clarence was in the lumber business so the family traveled to different areas in California and Oregon, eventually settling in the Placerville area. They later opened a restaurant there and in Auburn, CA that they operated for many years. Vera always really enjoyed the restaurant business. Retirement brought them to Brookings where they bought and operated the Tamaroo Mobile Home Park for 25 years. Following the death of her husband in 1985, Vera continued to operate the park with her son, Dennis until 2004. Vera enjoyed traveling and had done so extensively in the western US. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Lou Ann Bragg of Brookings, daughter, Sandra Kerr of Harbor, grandchildren, Kellie Kerr, Tracey Kohl, Julie and Brent Hayes, Michael and Carson Kohl, Mitchell, Matthew and Marshall Ford, Caree Denise Roberts, great grandchildren, Griffin Ross, Rhys Brenden and Makenna, Mylie & Maiki Ford . In addition to her husband, Vera was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Ford, four brothers and three sisters.
