Obituary: Benjamin “Doc” Frizzle

Benjamin Frizzle was born Sept 11, 1983 and died in his sleep the morning of March 12, 2019. He is survived by his father Brian Frizzle and mother Virginia, his brother Philip Mayo, sister Renne and brother-in-law Devin Cornwell. Ben was born in Oakland, California and grew up in Texas, the Philippines and Brookings. He traveled to Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong with his parents. He is also survived by his Grandmother Marilyn Frizzle and uncles, aunts and cousins in Michigan where he spent many summer vacations. His favorite place in the world was Brookings where he went to high school, was in many play productions, played Sax in the jazz band and even led the Azalea Parade one year as the Drum Major. He played in the Oregon Ducks Marching Band in his first year in college. Music motivated him to more college but finally he chose to work as a cook. After working in Washington State and in Oakland, he came home to Brookings. His final job was with the Oxenfre Public House. He liked everybody and had a crazy, warm and friendly way about him. He was beloved by his family and will be so missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Brookings Harbor Food Bank. PO Box 1415, Brookings, OR 97415. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
