Obituary for Betty Hall
Betty Hall January 8, 1925 – Dec. 3, 2017
Betty Hall was born January 8, 1925 in Lebanon, Oregon to Ole and Beulah Strickler. She was the oldest of 10 kids.
Growing up during the time of the Great Depression, she had to do lots of work with not much time for herself. This gave her a mentality of hard work, and the day after she graduated from High School, she found a job. Before her marriage, she worked at the movie theatre, then the bank, then at the mill as a secretary.
While working at the bank, a handsome man just out of the service came in. His name was Leland Hall. At first, she wasn’t that impressed; but he grew on her and after a time they were married and made their home in Waldport, Oregon. Work as a fisherman took Leland to Crescent City, so they relocated and stayed in the area the rest of their lives.
Betty loved her kids and enjoyed being a Mom. She was “Mom” to a lot of her sons’ friends. She loved painting pictures and crocheted many a blanket. She made clothes and people were always asking her to sew for them.
Betty is survived by her brother Jerry and sisters Pat, Oleta & Sharon, and also by her sons Dane, Dale, Mark and Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents Ole & Beulah Strickler, brothers Barney, Bob, Bud, Dick & Dewey.
Mom, you will never know how much I miss you.
