A poem- Witten by Nicole Becker
Loss

I have known you for many breathes.
My final breath taken.
My hand not full of yours as the Earth
cradled my beauty.
I touched your sadness with
outstretched fingers.
Expressing-- it is ok.
Tears fall encapsulating memories
of joyful expression.
Stories filled with smiles.
Healing-- understanding connection.
Intuitive communication through
many miles.
I did hold you one
last time.
For you to feel my arms whisper
to you.
Let my song splash about.
Hands interconnect holding this song.
I am always with you in the
air you breath.
Loss is not lost.
Loss is knowing and feeling
grief.
Knowing-- impacting the world.
Knowing-- impacting people.
Knowing-- impacting friends.
I am thought of in kindness.
A gift to cherish as I leave this world.
You always with me...
Close your eyes-- what do you see?
A leave falling dropping upon your path.
A shell drifts and surfs its way tickling your
toes.
A snowflake wisps and dances
upon your nose.
All reminders of me.
Grasping your hand tightly.
Walking astride.
I may no longer be here to
spread my joy.
As you think of me a
smile appears.
For these moments we cherish
--how we yearn for more....
I will come visit when you dream.
As I found my way to all that
makes sense I touch your face.
Profoundness and wonderment
present and real.
For you brought comfort.
Gaze with content live with no regret.
Love suspended in time just as it was
between you and I.
At the moment of departure it is
unchanged.
Be as it was and is.
Memories of the past still present.
Gifts I will lay upon your feet.
Until our energies dance together
again.
