Obituary for Yvette A. Mostachetti
Yvette A. Mostachetti passed away at her residence on August 31st, 2019 in Brookings, Oregon. She was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on July 16th, 1938 to Adelard Joseph Gauvin and Eva Anne (Dugas) Gauvin.
Yvette graduated from nursing school in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree. She married Larry Mostachetti in Athol, MA in June of 1961. Larry and Yvette had three daughters: Michelle, Denise and Dianne. After the birth of her daughters, Yvette’s life became busy with school events, Girl Scouts, PTA and Music Boosters and La Leche League. As the girls grew older, Yvette returned to work as an RN until she retired in 2000.
Yvette enjoyed a plethora of activities like reading mystery and crime novels, camping, gardening, scrapbooking, boating, bowling, and making cards and caps for kids. Among her accomplishments Yvette was the Secretary of Mesa Verde High School Music Boosters as well as a Girl Scout Troop leader, service unit manager, First Aider and Honorary Girl Scout for Life. Yvette served as a La Leche League Chapter President, then, a PTA Historian receiving an Honorary Service Award in 1982.
Yvette will be remembered by her husband of 58 years, Larry, daughters Michelle (William) Gray, Denise (David) Danens, Dianne (Ron) Billington, brother Paul and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Eva and Adelard Gauvin and sister-in-law Dorothy.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 6th, 2019 at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 12:30 PM in Brookings, Oregon.
