Obituary for Williene B. Moss
Willene B. Moss died June 22, 2010, in Brookings. Mrs. Moss was born March 7, 1920, in Aurora, MO to William and Rosa (Brandt) Mills and was the youngest of 6 surviving children. She married Elwyn Bowker in 1940. They had three children and divorced after 32 years of marriage. She married Charles Moss in 1973 and was widowed in 1978. Mrs. Moss moved to Long Beach, CA with her family at the age of eight. She lived in Long Beach most of her life before relocating to Oregon, in 2008, to be close to family. She was employed by Walker's Department Store, Long Beach, CA from late 50's until early 70's. She then went to work for The Broadway in Cerritos, CA and retired in 1985. As a 60 year member of Theta Sigma Phi Sorority, Alpha Gamma Chapter, she held many chapter and regional offices. She loved to garden and caring for her various plants and flowers was her hobby. She especially enjoyed the roses. She enjoyed traveling, visiting Europe, Australia, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii as well as many other States. She visited her children and grandchildren as often as possible. A strong Christian belief sustained her throughout her life. Mrs. Moss is survived by her son, Elwyn Bowker, Jr. (Judy) of Harbor, OR; daughters, Nancy Huffman (Bill) of Reedsport, OR, Susan King of Snohomish, WA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Interment Forest Lawn, Long Beach, California.
