Obituary for Virginia C. Haines
Virginia Haines Aug. 26, 1928 – April 13, 2016
Virginia Haines went home to the Lord on April 13, 2016. She was 87.
Virginia was born in Mounds, Okla. on August 26, 1928 and raised on a small farm in Duck Creek, Okla. She and her family moved to Azusa, Calif. In 1941. After her second marriage to Sam Haines, they moved to Oregon and eventually settled in Brookings in 1989. Virginia worked as a secretary and salesperson all her life. She was the secretary at First Baptist Church in Brookings in the 1990’s. She finished her career at Chetco Federal Credit Union.
Virginia is survived by her children, John Abbott and his wife, Regina of Tennessee, Robert Abbott and his wife, Laurie of Nevada, Cathy Bays and her husband, Michael of Brookings; granddaughters Jennifer (Bays) and Dhananjay Dass Bhardwaj of New Zealand and Sandy Ostrander of California. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Cora Laughlin, and her second husband, Sam Haines.
