Obituary for Vernon C. Clow, Jr.
Vernon C. Clow, Jr., of Brookings, passed away in Crescent City, Calif. on June 16, 2013 following a lengthy illness. He was 69. Vernon was born June 10, 1944 in Vacaville, Calif. to Vernon, Sr. and Tressie (Jones) Clow. He was raised in Australia, but returned to the US in his late teens. Vernon then began what would be a more than 35 year career as a crane operator – an occupation he truly loved. Vernon married Donna Pendleton in Reno, Nevada on January 11, 1964. They enjoyed traveling in their retirement but eventually settled in Brookings in 2012. Vernon was a God-fearing husband, father and grandfather who loved not only his family, but his extended church family. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Donna of Brookings, daughter and son-in-law, Roxana and Marty Rice and their children Josh, his wife Jessica and their daughter Madeline, James and his wife Melodi, son Vernon C. Clow, III and his children Charles and Brooklyn. A memorial service was held.
