Obituary for Thomas Lee Bennett
Thomas L. Bennett, 71, of Gold Beach, passed away in Gold Beach, Ore., on Jan. 3, 2014. Tom was born Oct. 18, 1942 in Quincy, Calif., to Orville and Eva (Clevenger) Bennett. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1959, where he served for four years before being honorably discharged. After the Navy, Tom married Karen Huot of Placerville, Calif. Together they had three beautiful children; Kelly, David, and Danny. Tom spent the majority of his life working as a handy man, doing carpentry and various jobs for people. He was an amazing craftsman, and enjoyed working with wood, both for other people and as a hobby. He could create anything out of wood, and enjoyed building things such as bird houses and planter boxes. Tom was an honest, friendly man with many friends in the various communities he lived in during his life time. He spent the last eight years in Gold Beach, Ore. where he made very close friends that he spent his last days with. He truly enjoyed helping others. Tom is survived by his sister Sharon Lovely; Tom’s oldest Daughter Kelly Bennett Moore, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; Tom’s middle son, Robert David Bennett, wife Tammi and one grandchild; and his youngest son Danny Bennett, wife Tosh Ann and four grandchildren. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
