Obituary for Theodorus "Mike" Overdevest
Theodorus Michael Overdevest, known to everyone simply as Mike, passed away in an accident at home in Cedar Valley on May 6, 2015. He was 47. Mike was born November 25, 1967 in Northridge, Calif. to Theodorus and Karen (Friedman) Overdevest. Mike was the do anything for anyone at anytime guy who was liked and loved by everyone he knew. Everyone who knew Mike knew he lived life on the edge and on top of the world. Crazy, daring, compassionate, ingenious, inventive, creative, sensitive, loving, caring and above all with a sense of humor in his ever so short life. Mike loved life, loved to fish and loved to play. Committing to each other in 2010, Mike and his life partner and soul mate, Judy Ale Klus, lived on the ranch in Cedar Valley. Mike loved his children Heather Ashland Overdevest and Steven Michael Overdevest. Mike also loved his granddaughter Rose, the newest apple of his eye whom he cherished and was fortunate to know for even just a short time. Mike had the most wonderful parents a person could have, Theo and Karen Overdevest who put up with his crazy youth and adulthood. Mike grew up with his big sister Tammy Rainville, who caused him to have great fear of redheads, his younger sister Dana Overdevest and younger brother Mark Overdevest in Northridge California. Mike’s family grew when Tammy married Frank and they had two daughters April and Faith and his brother Mark married Jennifer and had two children Kalia and Kobe. Mike had many close family relatives and friends who if were all mentioned would fill pages, just know you are all thought of. Memorial contributions can be made to Curry Anadromous Fishermen, PO Box 903, Gold Beach, OR 97444. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life for Mike on June 6th at the ranch, 95740 Ferguson Ranch Rd., Gold Beach from 2-4pm. Bring stories, photos, food and music to share. That is what Mike would have wanted. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed online at www.redwoodmemorial.net.
