Obituary for Theodore "Ted" F. Goldsmith
Theodore "Ted" F. Goldsmith Dec. 31, 1932 - April 12, 2010 Theodore "Ted" F. Goldsmith passed away at his residence in Brookings on Monday, April 12, 2010. He was 77. Ted, as family and friends knew him, was born December 31, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA to Harry and Emily (Schriever) Goldsmith. He grew up and went to school in San Jose, CA, earning a Bachelor's degree from San Jose State College. Ted spent most of his career as an engineer with the Lockheed Corporation including time spent in Hawaii constructing a tracking station there. He was a private pilot and enjoyed sail boat racing and fishing. After his years with Lockheed, Ted worked as a real estate broker and a licensed family counselor. He moved to Brookings in 2000. Ted was a very fun-loving and outgoing person; he never met a stranger. Survivors include his companion, Carol Larson of Brookings, daughters, Ellen Graap and Cynthia Goldsmith, both of California, brother, Ben Goldsmith of Van Nuys, CA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry and a sister, Thelma. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or to the American Cancer Society. At his request, no ceremony will be held.
