Shirley Hutman Oct. 19, 1920 - Aug. 28, 2010 Surrounded by her loving family, Shirley Hutman went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010. She was 89. Shirley was born October 19, 1920 in Albion, MI to Roger and Doris (Pennell) Oliver. After high school, Shirley worked at various different jobs including with Kraft Foods and Meier & Frank before marrying Edward Hutman on September 5, 1953 in Portland, OR. They moved to Brookings in 1977 where Shirley was active with and taught Sunday school for many years at the First Baptist Community Church. She was also a member of the TOPS Club. She enjoyed being in the outdoors working with her flowers and garden. Shirley was a wonderful mom and loving grandmother. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Julie Hutman of Brookings, Wayne and Jill Hutman of Santa Rosa, CA, daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Roy McCall of Gladstone, OR, grandchildren, Cynthia Badger (Jessee), Cheri Gowman (Gregg), Kevin Hutman, Daniel Honeycutt (Ashley), Jason Hutman, Jared Hutman (Heather), great grandchildren, Breanna, Oggie, Vincent, Cerise, Grayson, Connor, Caden, Cody, Garrett and Gavin, sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Bill Scales of Portland, OR. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1998 and a son, Michael in 1958. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Community Church, 607 Pacific Ave., Brookings, OR 97415. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Shirley will be laid to rest beside her husband at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno, CA.
