Obituary for Seymour Phylo King
Seymour Phylo King, a resident of Gold Beach, Oregon, passed away on February 23, 2018 at the age of 82 in Rogers, Arkansas while surrounded by family and loved ones.
Seymour was born in Oakland, California to Sherman and Lillian (Owens) King on June 23, 1935. He was preceded in death by his wife Donna May (Watkins) King of 50 years and his son Kevin Seymour King. He is survived by his wife Imogene Looney of 12 years. Seymour and Imogene are members of the Gold Beach Church of Christ.
Seymour retired from Southern California Edison Company as a Line Clearance Supervisor. In the 1950’s he worked with his father, Sherman King, in the construction of U.S. Highway 101 in Humboldt County. He worked logging redwoods and in lumber mills also in Humboldt County. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and crabbing.
Seymour is survived by his daughter Charlene Patterson of Medford, Oregon, and two sons Steven King and his wife Lorraine (Ricalde) King of San Diego, California and Danny King of Grover Beach, California. He leaves behind six grandchildren Jeremy Patterson, Jaclyn (Patterson) Schwartz, Jesse King, Joshua King, Sonia King and Sandra (King) Byrd. In addition, Seymour leaves behind five great grandchildren Xavier and Charlie Schwartz as well as Brayden, Tatum and Brodie Byrd.
