Obituary for Sandra M. Muller
Sandra Muller, 65, of Brookings, passed away in Grants Pass, Ore. on March 22, 2012. Sandra was born December 17, 1946 in San Francisco, Calif. She grew up between there and Crescent City, attending schools in both locations. She married Doug Costa in 1964; they had one son, Kurt. Mr. Costa would precede her in death. Sandra met Frank Muller while living in San Anselmo, Calif. The two fell in love and were married there on May 12, 1990. They moved to Napa and then later to American Canyon where Sandra worked as a co-manager of a Hallmark store. She and Frank would often take trips to Crescent City to visit her sister, who would in turn take them on drives to Brookings. They decided to retire to Brookings and moved here in 2005. She was a member of the Brookings Elks Lodge. Frank and Sandra were also both very active members of the Brookings-Harbor Red Shirts. From sewing helmet liners for soldiers, to helping with any fundraiser, parade or festival, to writing letters, doing mailings and even wearing red every Friday, their house was always abuzz with Red Shirt activities. Sandra was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a very caring person; her generosities had far reaching effects on many of her family and friends. She will be missed dearly and remembered fondly. Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Frank Muller of Brookings, son, Kurt Costa of Petaluma, Calif., daughter, Allison Muller of Napa, Calif., granddaughters, Andrea Muller and Makayla Costa, sisters, Barbara Batt of Jacksonville, Ore. and Jeannette Mitola of Crescent City, nephews, Jeff and Gary Mitola, niece, Cheryl Tackett, brother-in-law, Dave Costa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brookings Harbor Red Shirts, 17247 Lumber View Rd., Brookings, OR 97415. A celebration of Sandra's life will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St. Brookings, Or 97415
