Obituary for Ruth May Moore
Ruth May (Bangs) Moore passed away in Gold Beach on April 23, 2012. She was 93. Ruth was born to Andrew and Pearl (Hinkle) Bangs in Mountain View, Ark. on June 20, 1918. With her father in the logging business, the family moved from Arkansas to Oregon; Ruth and her siblings walked alongside the car. After the move, she finished school in Ophir, Ore. In 1952, Ruth moved to Gold Beach. She worked for US Plywood and at the Rogue River Myrtlewood Shop. Her last position was managing the Leith Motel. Ruth liked to be outdoors in the garden. She raised lily bulbs on Ferguson Ranch. She also enjoyed sewing and making costumes for the Ellensburg Theatre. Ruth was very supportive of her partner, Ethan Allen; the two liked to make land investments together. She was an all-around loving woman. Survivors include her partner, Ethan Allen; daughter, Judy Ford of Longmont, Colorado; son, Timothy Moore and his wife, Cat, of Battleground, Wash.; brother, Billy Bangs of Mountain View, Ark.; and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland L. Moore and five siblings. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
