Obituary for Ruth M. Stein
Ruth M. Stein, 93, of Gold Beach, passed away at a local care facility in Brookings, Ore. on January 25, 2016.

Ruth was born June 29, 1922 in Queens, New York, one of three children to William and Mabel (Jennings) Court. She married John G. Stein in Ridgewood (Queens), New York on May 24, 1948. Ruth served in the United States Marines as a recruiter during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. Subsequently, Ruth spent most of her life as a homemaker, raising three boys. She lived in Franklin Square, New York and Sandwich (Cape Cod), Massachusetts before moving to Gold Beach in 1986. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, the Women’s Propeller Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and volunteered at Curry General Hospital.

Survivors include her son, Bruce C. Stein of San Anselmo, Calif. and his wife Suzanne Richardson, her Daughter-in-law Jan Rapport, brothers, William Court and his wife, Ann of Breezy Point, New York, Rodney Court and his wife, Dorothy of Port Jefferson, New York; and three grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and sons, John W. Stein and Jeffrey P. Stein.

A memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church, 94190 5th St. Gold Beach on Friday, February 12.
