Obituary for Rosetta May "Rosie" Williams
Rosetta May Williams, “Rosie,” 78, of Brookings, passed away Nov. 6, 2014 in her home. She was born in Chico, Calif., on Jan. 24, 1936 to Ward and Helen Ansell. She moved to Brookings with her husband Wilbur “Earl” Williams in 1955. Her first job here was for Mattie Keffer who became a lifetime friend. Then Rosie worked for Chetco Rexall Drugs, which became Chetco Pharmacy & Gifts for 40-plus years. Rosie’s customers were extremely special to her; she looked forward to going to work daily. During her life she enjoyed her family and friends, fishing, hunting, gardening and her job. She is survived by children Debra, Art and Burley Williams; 10 grandkids, 20 great-grandkids and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters; one brother; and many nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life for Rosie will be at the Brookings Church of the Nazarene, 1600 Chetco Ave., Saturday Nov. 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. The location has been corrected, it is not at the Trinity Lutheran Church. A potluck will follow the service. Donations to help with Rosie’s memorial services can be sent in care of her daughter Debra to P.O. Box 771 or to 316 Memory Lane Brookings, OR 97415. Cremation is under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel.
