Obituary for Phyllis J. "Nana" Drain
Phyllis J. “Nana” Drain passed away in Brookings, Ore. on October 2, 2011. She was 54. Phyllis was born May 12, 1957 in Burbank, Calif. To Alfred and Lois (Thompson) Rogers. She grew up in Oklahoma and worked as a waitress for most of her career. She enjoyed camping, but, Phyllis’ greatest joy in her life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her. She was very kind-hearted and made friends with everyone she met, including all the staff at the Chetco Inn RCF, where she was not only a resident, but also a dear friend. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her sons, Tony Drain and his wife, Melissa of Brookings, Casey Skelton of Sutherlin, OR, former husband, David Drain and step-son, Loyd Drain, both of Brookings, grandchildren, Preston, Anthony and Rebecca Drain of Brookings, sisters, Sandy Graham and Anna Wagner of Oklahoma City, OK, brothers, Mark, Ronnie, Pete, Daryl, Danny and Mike Rogers, all of Oklahoma City, OK, numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Pam Aaron and a brother, Benny Rogers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chetco Inn, 417 Fern St., Brookings, OR 97415. A celebration of Nana’s life will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 1:00pm at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St. in Brookings. Pastor Adrian Van Aswegen will officiate. Viewing will follow at the Chapel until 3pm.
