Obituary for Phillip Gregory Reynolds
Phillip Gregory Reynolds Oct. 28. 1975 - May 29, 2011 Phillip G. Reynolds was called home to our Lord in Brookings on May 29, 2011. He was 35. Phillip was born October 28, 1975 in Long Beach, CA to Gerald and Deborah Fries. He moved with his family to Brookings in 1987, where he attended Azalea Middle School and was a graduate of B.H.H.S., class of 1994. As soon as he was allowed, on his 18th birthday, Phillip began what would be a lifelong passion of serving his community when he signed on as a volunteer firefighter with the Brookings Fire Department. His service extended to the reserves for the Brookings Police Department where his mother Deborah serves as a dispatcher. Phillip made public service his vocation when he started as an EMT with Southern Curry Ambulance and then later with Cal-Ore Life Flight. In 2005, he went to work as an Officer at Pelican Bay State Prison, a career he loved. Phillip loved the outdoors. Whether he was camping, kayaking, fishing or just having a BBQ on his deck at home, he was happy. He also loved to take road trips with his wife and playing video games. Phillip married Jennifer on April 2nd, 2008 in South Lake Tahoe, CA. He was her Hero. He will be remembered as compassionate, loyal, loving, and all around, an amazing man. He will be sorely missed by all and leaves a huge hole in his family, friends and in our community. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer, who loves him dearly, mother Deborah, Brothers Dustin, Barry, and Terry, "Aunt Donna" Valenzuela, cousins Tony and Deannie Jo, Mother and Father-in-law Gary and Gina Bledsaw, niece Kourtney, nephew Noah, Sister-in-law Kristine, Brothers-in-law Todd and Darren, grandma Peggy Ghiringhelli, Papa John, and too many special friends to list all by name. Phillip was preceded in death by his Father Jerry, Grandparents and two cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to an account to assist the family with expenses at any branch of Chetco Federal Credit Union. A celebration of Phillip's life will be held on Wednesday, June 8 2011 at 2p.m. at the Brookings-Harbor Christian Church, 777 5th St. in Brookings. Curt Fox and Pastor Lance Knauss will officiate. A potluck reception will follow at the Church.
