Philippe C. Gastonguay passed away at his home on April 18, 2012. He was 63. Philippe was born to Philippe and June (Roe) Gastonguay on August 26, 1948 in Pontiac, Illinois. He moved to Oregon where he attended school in Myrtle Point and later Eagle Point High School. He enjoyed fishing and reading. Philippe also wrote poetry, he even had a song recorded by Dwight Yoakum. He enjoyed singing karaoke especially country western songs. Survivors include his siblings, Stan Byle and his wife, Shirley of Redmond, OR, Jolynn Dausey and her husband, Robin of Medford, John Gastonguay of Grants, New Mexico, Joseph Gastonguay and his wife, Connie of Brookings, Karen Pershin and her husband, Larry of Klamath Falls, OR, Kathy Nichols of Banks, OR, Terrie Carver of Brookings and Helayne Whitmore and her husband, Jesse of Medford, OR, numerous nieces and nephews. Philippe was preceded in death by his step-father, Darwin, mother, June, and two sisters, Sharron Greenhaw and Becki Jones. A gathering for Philippe’s friends and family will be held at noon on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Harbor Logging Supply, 1 Northgate Plaza, in Brookings. Inurnment will be at a later date at Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Ore.
