Obituary for Pauline Crook
Pauline Crook Oct. 22, 1922 – Aug. 12, 2010 Pauline Crook passed away peacefully, with her family at her bedside, in her home at Gold Beach August 12, 2010. She was 87. Pauline was born October 22, 1922 at Race Track Hill, Wedderburn, OR to Harry and Inez Briggs. She married Russell Crook and they enjoyed 60 years together. Pauline worked mostly as a homemaker but also drove school bus for 16 years, was a member of the Ophir Women’s Club and served with the hospital auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Darline Melendy of Gold Beach; sons, Ron Crook & wife, Cena, of Gold Beach; Kent Crook & wife, Meg, of Culver. Grandchildren: Jim Melendy, Crissa Foulke & husband Tony, and Carrie Crook & Rob Brown; Scott Crouch & wife Ashley; Rob Crouch & wife Debbie; Missy Larsson; Rob Lund; & great grandchildren Timothy, Kimberly and Michael Melendy; Nathan and Jessica Foulke; Dylan Edwards and Rhys Brown; William, Bailey, & Brittany Crouch; great-great grandson, Jericho Melendy; and a brother, John Briggs & his wife Velma of Gold Beach. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Russell and a grandson, Jeff Melendy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Curry County Hospice, PO Box 382, Gold Beach, OR 97444. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 10:30am at Rogue River Cemetery in Gold Beach. Interment will follow there.
