Obituary for Matthew Wayne Charleston
Matthew W. Charleston, formerly of Crescent City, passed away from natural causes at a local care facility in Brookings on January 3, 2012. He was 31. Matthew was born March 12, 1980 in Crescent City to Daniel and Deborah (Corliss) Charleston. He grew up in Crescent City, playing youth football for 3 years and graduation from Del Norte High School in 1998. Matthew held various jobs but was most recently employed at Del Norte Tire where he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and working on his Mitsubishi pickup. Survivors include his father, Dan Charleston of Crescent City, paternal grandparents, Charles and Lucille Charleston of Crescent City, maternal grandfather, Lyle Corliss of McKinleyville, CA, sister, Deanna Charleston of Eureka, CA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mathew was preceded in death by his mother, grandmother and an aunt. Memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 493, Gold Beach, OR 97444. A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church, 188 E. Cooper Ave. in Crescent City. Pastor Dan Schlensker will officiate. A reception will follow at the Church.
