Mary Ida Fahy passed away at Seaview in Brookings, OR on July 31, 2012. She was 93. Mary was born May 9, 1919 in Hollywood, Calif. to Clarence and Mary (Mostellar) Hedrick. She married Bruce D. Johnston in 1940. They later divorced. Mary married Frank E. Meier in 1956. Frank died in 1963. In 1964, she married Byron D. Fahy. Doug died in 1993. They lived in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. for nearly 40 years. Mary loved children and taught Sunday School and Release Time in San Diego and Long Beach. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, golf, and Bridge. Survivors include her children Ruth Wilson and her husband, Richard of Brookings, Stephen B. Johnston and his wife Linda of Brookings, Irene Homme and her husband Michael of Palm Desert, Calif., Deborah Miller and her husband Patrick of Santa Barbara, Calif., grandchildren, Rebecca Watwood, her husband Skip and their children Terran and Mike Mastaloudis of Crescent City, Calvin and Courtney of Brookings, Michelle Ostendorf, her husband Craig and their children Emily and Abbey, Faith Johnston and Ryan Brouillette and her daughter Lilli, Jason Homme and TR Hazelrigg, Joshua Homme, his wife Brady and their children, Camille and Orin Ryder, Michael Allen and Chrystal Allen and Nathan Youngblood and their daughter, Elizabeth. No local ceremony will be held. Mary will be laid to rest in Palm Desert, California with a private family memorial at Palm Desert Presbyterian Church.
