Obituary for Martha L. Officer
Martha L Officer of Gold Beach OR, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021 in her childhood home surrounded by family. Martha was born in Gold Beach on March 10, 1949 to Marvin W. Johnson and Gladys Hoffman Johnson. She was raised in Gold Beach and graduated from Gold Beach High School in 1967. Martha lived in Gold Beach until her husband retired in 1994 and then relocated to Reedsport OR until he passed in 2013. She lived in Roseburg for a short 2 years until finally moving back to her childhood home in 2019.

Martha was an avid knitter, she also loved to draw and paint ceramics. Martha found her true joy in life through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved to sing his praises with her beautiful voice. The highlights of her life were her Son Rob, splashing around in Hunters creek with her sissy and nieces. She loved to travel with her husband each spring and summer to "camp host" and each fall and winter to Arizona, and Martha was an avid animal lover and had many pets of her own. Martha had a true warm spirit and love of life, she was a good listener and made people feel welcome, she was also really spunky and loved to joke around "just like my daddy" she always said.

Martha is survived by her Son Robert Coppock of Santa Rosa CA, Sister-in-Law Linda Johnson of Winston OR. Nieces Jenifer Plummer, Caren Vastine both of Gold Beach & Rachel Clark of Philomath OR, Nephews Roger Johnson of Lafayette OR, Todd Johnson of Winston OR, Adam Johnson of Hillsboro OR and Thomas A Remy of Gold Beach. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 yrs. Arrol Officer. Parents Marvin and Gladys Johnson, Brothers, Roy, George and Clarence Johnson and sister Amy Johnson Remy.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of cards or flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Wild Rivers Animal Rescue in Gold Beach 541-247-2514
