Obituary for Mae Jackson
Mae Jackson May 1, 1936 – March 19, 2015 Mae Jackson, 78, passed away at her home in Gold Beach, Ore. on March 19, 2015. Mae was born May 1, 1936 in Clintwood, Virginia, one of eleven children to George and Mattie Moore. She married James Levering Jackson, who was in the military so the family moved around a lot. Mae eventually moved to Gold Beach in 1974. Mae was a home body and, as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She also liked to crochet. She was a tremendous example to her family of how to be a woman of strong faith and character. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughter, Vicki Thomas and son in law David Thomas of Gold Beach, Ore., grandchildren, Robert Taylor, Nathan Strouth, Travis Patten and wife Sarah Patten, Christopher Jackson, Charmaine Davis, great grandchildren, Beau, James, Lily, Destiny, Logan, Taylor, Hailey, Mason, Zoey, Hunter, Connor, Quintin, Meehya, Axton, great-great grandchild, Cody; sisters, Tona Mullins, Easter Mullins, Linda Hamilton, and a brother, Ralph Moore. Mae was preceded in death by her former husband, James Jackson and son, Paul Strouth, both in 2006 and six brothers and sisters: Earl Moore, Quentin Moore, Carl Moore, Delmon (Fon) Moore, Kenneth Moore, and Ann Edith Hines. The family would like to thank Brenda (Moore) Wilson for all the love and support shown in their time of need. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
