Obituary for MSGT Clyde Tate, (USAF Ret.)
MSGT Clyde Tate, (USAF Ret.), 76, of Harbor, passed away in Crescent City, Calif. on November 24, 2014. Clyde was born December 30, 1937 in Pecos County, Texas to Jasper and Vada Tate. Clyde grew up in Texas; he entered the US Air Force at the age of 18. He served 26 years in the Air Force all over the world; he retired in 1981. Following retirement, Clyde moved to Sacramento where he met and married Charlene. They lived there until the early 1990’s when they moved to Colfax, Calif. Charlene preceded Clyde in death in 2001. He moved to Marysville where he lived until moving to Harbor in 2007 to be near his family. Clyde was a member of the Brookings Elks Lodge and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and was an avid pool player. Survivors include his sons, Matthew Tate of Cochran, Calif., Bradley Tate of Riverside, Calif., Jeffrey Tate and his wife, Lynn of Taylor, Mich., daughters, Lisa Dollar and her husband, Mike of Brookings, Ore., LeeAnne Dodson of Brookings, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a sister, Sharon of Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at WJ Ward Memorial Cemetery, 1035 7th Street in Brookings. Retiree military honors will be provided by the Beale AFB Honor Guard. Interment will follow there.
