Obituary for Lucille Marie Clark
Lucille Marie Clark passed away peacefully on January 20, 2017 at age 97. Lucille was born in Heron Lake, MN on June 24, 1919 to parents Merlin and Hannah Freer. At age 11, Lucille and her parents moved to Livingston, CA, where Lucille graduated from high school.
Lucille married Robert Clark in 1939, and they resided in Merced, CA. Bob owned a Union service station, and Lucille worked at Woolworth’s. They enjoyed skiing at Badger Pass, camping in Yosemite and fishing. In 1962, Lucille and Bob moved to Mariposa, CA, where Bob owned the ARCO station. They purchased a series of motor homes and boats to expand their skiing, camping, and fishing excursions throughout California and into Nevada and Oregon. In 1994, Lucille and Bob moved to Brookings, OR, where they had followed salmon fishing for many years. After Bob passed away in 1996, Lucille remained in Brookings, maintaining and making new friendships. Lucille loved pets and her red Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. She was devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was especially close to her daughter.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Lucille is survived by her daughter, Yvonne De Luca, son-in-law Joseph, granddaughter Jan De Luca and husband J. Pierre Wong, grandson Jeffrey De Luca and wife Amy, and great-grandsons Nathan Wong and Connor De Luca.
A graveside service will be held at Ward Memorial Cemetery in Brookings, on Thursday, February 2nd. at 11:00 a.m.
