Lucille M. Azevedo, 95, passed away in Gold Beach, Ore. on Nov. 26, 2016.

Lucille was born May 8, 1921 in Hollister, Calif. to Gavino and Martha (Mella) Machado. She married Manuel “M.S.” Azevedo. He preceded her in death in 1966. Lucille lived in Los Banos, Calif. before moving to Modesto where she would spend the next 45 years. She moved to Gold Beach, Ore. 12 years ago.

Lucille was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church – most recently St. Charles Borromeo in Gold Beach. She enjoyed gardening and loved to dance and spend time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Julio M. Ponce of Gold Beach; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Richardson of Gold Beach, son and daughter-in-law, Chester “Chet” and Irene Azevedo of Modesto, Calif.; brother, Garrett Machado of Morgan Hill, Calif., sister, Dolores Tellez of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank, Victor, Gavino “Dooley”, John, Gloria and Palmida.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of the donor’s choice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00am on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 1971 St. Lawrence Drive in Santa Clara. A committal will follow at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
