Obituary for Louise Mae McKay
Louise M. McKay Feb. 12, 1931 - Jan. 9, 2011 Louise M. McKay passed away at a local care facility in Brookings on January 9, 2011. She was 79. Louise was born February 12, 1931 in Moline, IL to Louis and Ruth (Glimpse) Parmentier. She married Robert W. Walton in Dubuque, IA on October 15, 1949, later divorced. She later married Lionel "Mac" McKay on April 19, 1975 in La Mesa, CA. They moved to Brookings 10 years ago where they were active in the Christian Family Fellowship. Louise enjoyed painting, decoupage, playing piano and singing. In her earlier years she also sold Avon products, Mary Kay cosmetics, worked in primary school food service and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her husband, Mac McKay of Brookings, her sons and daughters-in-law by her first marriage, Robert Jr. and Ruth Walton of Lakeside, CA, Michael and Rose Walton of Escondido, CA, Patrick and Rose Walton of Lakeside, CA, Bryan and Elizabeth Walton of Sammamish, WA, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and brother Gary Parmentier. Louise was preceded in death by her first husband, her sister Janice Baresel and a brother, Alan Parmentier. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at 11:00am at the Christian Family Fellowship, 15786 Hwy. 101 in Harbor. Pastor Chuck Earle will officiate. A reception will follow the service at the church.
