Obituary for Lorraine M Anderson
Lorraine M. Anderson, 97, died January 25th, 2012 in Brookings, Oregon. A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, February 11th at 3:00 PM. Lorraine was born December 10, 1914 in Suver, Oregon to John and Catherine Olthoff. Lorraine married her high school sweetheart, Merle W. Anderson in 1934, and they enjoyed 72 years together. They owned a farm near Keno, Oregon where they raised hay, cattle and four sons. Part of this time was spent cooking great meals over an old, wood stove for a hungry crew while still having time to enjoy many crafts and sewing which she excelled at. Lorraine had a kind heart and a desire to do what she could for anyone in need. In 1966 they sold the farm in Keno and moved to Brookings. They had a large back yard where they enjoyed spending much of their time and soon had it looking like a park. Lorraine also enjoyed ceramics and quilting. She had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord and was very active in her church. She made many beautiful quilts for family members and many that were sent overseas to the needy through her church. Lorraine Anderson is survived by her sons and their wives, Jerry Anderson of Keno, Or., Ken and Judy of Rocky Point, Or., Dave and Cathy of Eagle Point, Or., daughter in law, Wanda Anderson of Tigard, Or., 14 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, special niece Rose Morehouse, other nieces and nephews, dear friends Gail Forn, Pastor Gordy, Julia Cleveland, Tencha Hernandez and numerous other very special friends and neighbors. Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Merle, eldest son Don, her parents and brother. Donations in her memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1200 Easy St., Brookings, OR 97415 or Coastal Home Health and Hospice, PO Box 493, Gold Beach, OR 97444.
