Lois Eileen Rogers was born September 24, 1923, in Los Angeles, California, to Allen Jackson Brinegar and Lydia Miller-Smith.
After high school graduation, during World War ll, she enlisted in the United States Navy (Waves) stationed at Ream Field Naval Air Base San Diego, Ca. Lois served as Seaman First Class in the control tower. She often said it was the most exciting experience of her young life.
On June 19, 1949, she married the love of her life Olen Rogers. They spent 59 marvelously happy years together until Olen preceded her in death in 2008. They lived in Whittier and Oxnard California before retiring in Brookings in 1983. The shared their home with many fur babies over the years including Bridgette whom Olen bought for Lois before he died.
They absolutely loved everything about living in Brookings and were proud to share the beauty of Oregon with many friends and family.
A week preceding her death, Lois celebrated her 95th birthday at home surrounded by many close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Curry County Hospice or charity of choice.
The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 800 Old County Road, Brookings. Interment will follow at W. J. Ward Memorial Cemetery. A luncheon be served at the Parish Hall after the Interment.
