Obituary for Linda B. Savona
Linda B. Savona, 61, died peacefully on March 10, 2010 at her home in Brookings surrounded by family. Linda was born June 25, 1948 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Harry Mullen and Dell McGaha. She moved to Fresno, Calif. were she attended school and met her husband Vincent Savona. Vince and Linda were high school sweethearts and were married shortly after Vince returned from Vietnam in 1969. In 1974, Vince and Linda had twin boys, Gary and Paul. While her boys were growing up Linda enjoyed taking the boys camping and fishing with the family. Linda worked as a home-maker until the boys were school age at which time she worked as an Assistant Teacher and a Certified Nursing Assistant. Vince and Linda moved to Brookings in 1999 after her sons began college. Linda spent her time in Brookings visiting with her many friends. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends at her Brookings home. In addition to her husband of 41 years, Linda is survived by her sons, Gary and wife Julie of Brookings, Paul and wife Stacy of Brookings, father Harry and wife Corky of Madera, CA, and brother Gerry and wife Terri of Reno, NV. She is also survived by mother-in-law Ann, brother-in-law Mike and wife Terry both of Janesville, WI, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Dell McGaha.
