Obituary for Lillian Cecilia Sciulli
Lillian Cecilia Brolin (Evans) Sciulli

Sept. 16, 1920 - June 21, 2019

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.

Lillian Cecilia Brolin (Evans) Sciulli, 98, of Brookings, Oregon, passed away June 21, 2019 at Ocean Park Memory Care. She was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Seattle, Washington, to Swedish immigrants, Oscar and Cecilia Brolin. Her mother died when she was 13, and she was sent to live at a children's home with two of her sisters. She later moved to Long Beach, California, where she met and married John Robinson Evans Jr. in 1940. Together they raised two daughters, and she was widowed in 1975. In 1992 Lillian moved to Brookings, Oregon, and later married Matthew Sciulli. Mr. Sciulli died in 2007.

Lillian loved her home on the Winchuck River, where she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She had many apple trees on her property and delighted in feeding them to the deer that frequented her home. Some of them would even eat out of her hand.

Lillian attended the Nazarene Church in Brookings for many years with her husband. She loved the Lord and liked to read the Lord's Prayer at a home church she attended with her daughter. She was an artist and a member of the Manley Art Center, where she enjoyed painting with her many artist friends.

Survivors include daughters Karen Douglass of Brookings and Linda Johnston and her husband Steve Johnston, also of Brookings; Granddaughters Elisa Watts of San Antonio, Texas; Faith Brouilette of Palos Verdes, California; Amanda Smith of San Antonio, Texas; Great Grandchildren Lilli Warren Johnston of Palos Verdes, California, Nathan Smith, Daniel Smith, Rachel Smith, and Joshua Smith, all of San Antonio, Texas, and Alexander Brouilette of Palos Verdes, California.

She was preceded in death by John R. Evans, Jr., her husband of 35 years; Matthew Sciulli, her husband of 13 years; parents Cecilia Gustafson and Oscar Brolin; sisters Margaret Grandfield, Marie Pickens, Ellen Pleger, and brothers Carl and John Brolin.

Lillian always had a smile for everyone and was loved by all who knew her. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family. Rest in peace until Jesus returns to resurrect the righteous to Eternal Life. Then we will see you again!

Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29
