Obituary for Leonard Blanchard Beeson
Leonard B. Beeson passed away in Gold Beach on Saturday, March 26, 2011. He was 58. Leonard was born October 17, 1952 in Morrisville, NC. He grew up there and, following high school, entered the US Army. Leonard served two years on active duty before being honorably discharged. After his service, he began what would be a lifelong career and passion as a commercial fisherman. He also worked as a bartender and referred to himself as a “mixologist”. Leonard moved to Gold Beach in 1990. Survivors include his wife, Debra Hughes, twin daughters, Heather and Heidi Beeson of Washington, mother, Katy Beeson of Grants Pass, brothers, Wayne Beeson and his wife, Vicki of Harbor, Harry Beeson of Gold Beach, Robert Beeson III of San Diego, CA, sisters, Cathy Larson and her husband, Russ of Grants Pass, Roberta Beeson of New York, and numerous nieces and nephews. Leonard was preceded in death by his half brother, Tony Beeson. A celebration of Leonard’s life will be announced at a later date.
