Obituary for Kuza Mozelle Wade
Mozelle Wade of Gold Beach, OR died February 1st, 2014 at the age of 89. She was born June 12, 1924 in Bandon, OR to Walter J. and Delia Ann Poff. Mozelle grew up in and around the Gold Beach area. She graduated from Ophir High School and traveled to San Francisco with friends after graduation and also worked in Eugene, OR at a machine shop during WW II. Mozelle married Wallace Wade on June 22, 1944. Their son, Stan was born in 1946. Their daughter Sidney, was born in 1947. They lived around the Ophir area until 1964 when they moved to Gold Beach. During her time at Ophir , Mozelle was the clerk of the Ophir School District and active in the PTA. After her children grew up, she worked for Curry County in the tax office for 20 years. Mozelle enjoyed playing golf, bowling, traveling, fishing, hunting and hiking. She liked to watch wildlife in the mountains and on the river. Most of all she loved her family – her children, grandchildren, her sister and brother-in-law (who was her husband's brother) and their families and the many friends she made over the years. Mozelle is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Lorene Wade. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Judy Wade, and her daughter and son-in-law, Sidney and Mel McDougal, grandchildren - Stanley Wade, Lisa Casper, Julie Alexander, Wade and Randy Arndt and Kristal Carpenter and 14 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Rogue River Cemetery, Hunter Creek Loop in Gold Beach. Pastor Tim Brueckner will officiate. A reception will be at 1:30pm at the Gold Beach Senior Center, 29841 Airport Way in Gold Beach.
