June M. (Roe) Anderson Jan. 5, 1925 - May 10, 2011 June M. Anderson passed away in Crescent City, CA on May 10, 2011 at the age of 86. June was born January 5, 1925 in Pontiac, Ill. to Elmer and Helen (Fields) Roe. She grew up and attended school there. At the age of 25, June moved west where she held various different jobs including as a security officer and in fish canneries. June married Darwin Lee Anderson on April 16, 1969 in Reno, Nev.; they made their home in Brookings. Darwin and June later moved to Elko, Nev. where they lived for ten years before returning to Brookings. June enjoyed hunting, fishing, sewing, quilting, crocheting and working in her garden. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed greatly by her family. Survivors include her children, Stan Byle and his wife, Shirley of Redmond, OR, Jolynn Dausey and her husband, Robin of Medford, John Gastonguay of Grants, New Mexico, Philippe Gastonguay of Brookings, Joseph Gastonguay and his wife, Connie of Brookings, Karen Pershin and her husband, Larry of Klamath Falls, OR, Kathy Nichols of Banks, OR, Terrie Carver of Brookings and Helayne Whitmore and her husband, Jesse of Medford, OR, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin, earlier this year, two daughters, Sharron Greenhaw and Becki Jones, sister, Petra Obert and a brother, Richard Roe. A celebration of June's life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 1:00pm at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St. A reception will follow there.
