Judson Elmer “Judd” Bullis Jr., 61, of Brookings, died June 1, 2011 at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City, of a lengthy illness. He was born July 9, 1949 in Detroit, MI to Mildred and Judson Bullis Sr. Judd served in the U.S. Army as an explosive engineer in Vietnam, Korea, and Germany until 1972, attaining the rank of E4. He lived in Portland, Eugene, and Brookings, and worked at Sears, Roebuck and Company in Eugene for 10 years. He also resided in Riverside County in Southern California. He married Sharon Hoppe March 5, 2011. Judd was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He was a proud member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Jud will be especially remembered for his love of people and his passion for music. He played guitar and harmonica. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Bullis, of Brookings; daughter Tina Jane and her husband Christopher Bosland; son Judd Warden; grandchildren Ethan, Ashton, Samuel, Jona and Hailey, all of Eugene. Relatives and friends are welcome to a celebration of Judd’s life at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at Laurie and Ken Podesta-Daniel’s home, 1321 Homestead, in Brookings. Memorial contributions are welcome to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
