Obituary for Josette M. Blodgett
Josette M. Blodgett Dec. 21, 1928 – Jan. 9, 2010 On January 9, 2010 Josette M. Blodgett “jumped the fence” after a long battle with cancer. Josette was born December 21, 1928 in Paris, France. She spent her youth growing up there and in 1955 she, her husband and her daughter moved to America. Once re-married to Bill Blodgett, they settled in Ontario, OR. They lived there on a ranch until her husband’s death when she moved to Boise, ID, where she resided until her illness. She moved to Brookings in 1992 where she lived during and after her granddaughter’s death and then returned to Boise in 1998. She moved back to Brookings in 2009 to be near her daughter. Josette loved good food, good wine and, always, a good laugh. She enjoyed music, camping, hunting, fishing, going to the movies and sharing time with family and friends. Josette is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Rod Nichols of Brookings, granddaughter, Sheena McKay, sister-in-law, Janine Lytle and her husband, Don, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Blodgett and her granddaughter, KariAnne McKay Josette was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her and will be remembered fondly and with a smile. A celebration of life going away party will be held on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 from 2pm to 4pm at 7209 Edge Cliff Drive.
