Obituary for Jesus Cadena
Jesus Cadena, 69, passed away from natural causes at his home in Brookings, Ore. on May 17, 2014. Jesus was born in Fort Hancock, Texas to Alberto and Dulce (Guerrero) Jimenez. He served in the US Navy from 1966 to 1969 where he earned several medals for meritorious service in Vietnam. Jesus then earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree and spent most of his career working for the California Department of Corrections. He moved to Brookings, Ore. in 2004. Survivors include his siblings Maria Fleming of Brookings, Ore., Inez Hayes of Lompoc, Calif., Tony Cadena of Champagne, Ill., Valentin Robles of Santa Maria, Calif., Lupe Smith of Eugene, Ore., Rummy Palacios of Buellton, Calif., Rose Maria Cadena of Colorado Springs, Colo., Albert Cadena of Brookings, Ore., and Alonzo Cadena of Eugene, Ore., several nieces and nephews. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8pm on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Starbuck Lind Mortuary with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Lompoc followed by interment at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
