Although I was too young to fully understand I know that when my grandpa died it left a huge hole in the hearts of my grandma and mom. Then you came along. I can’t even begin to express the gratitude I feel for everything you’ve been to my family. I don’t even know where we would be right now if it weren’t for you. You’ve been a husband to my grandma, a father to my mom, and of course a grandfather to me. You took care of my grandma as well as any husband could have. You gave her an amazing life. I have many wonderful childhood memories sitting on your couch talking about football and many other things with you. I will treasure these memories always. In many ways I have looked up to you as a father figure when mine wasn’t there. And in many ways you were my inspiration to be a better man. You have always been there for me no matter what, and it means so much to me. I regret that I didn’t get to tell you goodbye, so this is my way of saying it now. Thank you for everything you have been to my family and for being a huge part of my life; I love you and will miss you always. Rest in Peace Grandpa. Your loving grandson, Jimmy
