Obituary for "Geo"
Georgia “Geo” L. Martin, 76, of Gold Beach Friday, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on Friday, August 27,2021.
Georgia was born to Carl Herman Dean and Helen Mae Daugherty on February 22, 1945. She married Everett Paul Martin in Coupeville, Washington, on February 19, 1962. The young couple moved to Missouri shortly after the birth of their first child, Karlee (Martin) Chenoweth. They had 3 sons, Gene Martin, Kevin Martin and Paul Martin while in Missouri. The family moved from Missouri to Gold Beach in 1979.
Vibrant and fun loving her entire life, Georgia was quick-witted and brought laughter to everyone she met. She wore a pair of earrings and a hair accessory for every occasion. Many in Gold Beach will remember her as the bubbly waitress and bartender at Spada’s Restaurant where she worked for nearly 30 years. She also held positions at local motels and at Curry General Hospital.
She liked thrift shopping, dancing, going to the casino, animals, hunting and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and friends and would help anyone in need.
Georgia is survived by her daughter, Karlee (Martin) Chenoweth, her sons, Gene Martin and wife Michele, Paul Martin and wife Angie, all of Gold Beach; her grandchildren, Crystal Chenoweth of Moses Lake, Washington, Codi (Chenoweth) Benham and husband Devin, and Joshua Martin all of Gold Beach, as well as her sisters, Donna Sims of Eureka, Montana and Carol Miller of Kennewick, Washington, a brother, David Carter of Camano Island, Washington, and brother, Robbie Glen of Arkansas, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and her dog, Wilbur.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Ray Martin and husband, Everett Paul Martin.
There will be a private family service September 24,2021 in Gold Beach.
