Frank Robert Piper, Jr., of Brookings, Ore., passed away in Crescent City, Calif., on June 30, 2014. He was 69 years old. Frank was born Oct. 15, 1944 in San Diego, Calif., to Frank and Lucile (Wetherby) Piper. He graduated from Livermore High School in 1962. After high school, Frank enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served his country honorably for 21 years before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant, and was a Vietnam Veteran. In his free time, Frank enjoyed sailing, was a member of the Alameda Yacht Club, and even sailed to Mexico. He also loved to travel in his trailer. When he wasn’t traveling, Frank enjoyed barbecuing with his friends and family, gardening and growing flowers, fruits and vegetables. He was a dedicated father and grandfather. Frank is survived by his daughter Michelle Dinger and her husband Geoff of Roseville, Calif.; daughter Janna Cambra and her husband David of Roseville, Calif.; sister Barbara Nichols of Livermore, Calif.; sister Paulette Moss of Concord, Calif.; and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by sister Laura Borland, and his parents Frank Sr. and Lucile Piper. Redwood Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
