Obituary for Frances Page
Frances Page, 70 year resident of Brookings, passed away at the age of 94 on January 17, 2010. Her family would like to thank all of the people who helped take care of her in her final years. Your love and care for her will always be remembered. A celebration of Frances' life will be held at 11am on Wed., Jan. 27, 2010 at Redwood Memorial Chapel, 1020 Fifield St., Brookings, Ore. The service will be followed by a reception at Thomas Page's home, 819 Old County Road, Brookings, Ore. (541) 469-4868. Frances was born in Greenfield, Mo. on March 16, 1915, the sixth of seven children of Charles and Vivian (Pertle) Blanchard. She was raised with genteel southern manners and was a lady who put the shine of a diamond into the rough and tumble rural world in which she lived. She was known for her incredible hospitality, the selflessness with which she provided for her family and the beautiful flower and vegetable gardens she raised. She was instrumental in helping her husband, "Mike," in establishing Boy Scouting in Curry County and in keeping the records straight in his business dealings. Her family will remember how she made each child know that they were important and worth her time, even the children of her extended family. She loved bringing all the family together for Holiday meals and celebrations. She is survived by her sons Bob and Tom Page Sr. of Brookings, her daughter Arlene Page-Kasper of Gasquet, Cal., her sister Lake Erie Jenson of Albany, Ore., her 5 grandchildren, 2 guardian-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, her great grandchildren, and by her beautiful nieces, nephews, and her friends at the Good Samaritan Society Curry Village. She was preceded in death by her Husband "Mike" Charles Page, her sisters Elvie, Mary, Lucy Mae, and Erma, her brother George, her grandson Charlie Page, and by her great-grandson Lediah Cain-Schmidt. Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Lions Eye Bank of Oregon, 2201 SE 11th, Portland, OR 97214.
