Obituary for Eleanor Anderson
Brookings resident Eleanor Anderson, age 83, passed away on April 3, 2020 in Eugene, Oregon. She was born October 15, 1936 in Los Angeles, California, to Benny and Betty Siff. Eleanor graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1954. She married James Anderson in 1960 and was married for 60 years. She and Jim lived in several cities in California, Nevada and Oregon before coming to Brookings in 2001. Ellie also had a special talent as a buyer of women's clothing, and was very successful in running the seven different clothing stores we owned from Eagle Rock, Calif. to Bend, Ore. Many of the stores were in beach cities along the Southern California coast. Ellie is survived by her husband Jim and was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Joyce Thomas. No public services are planned at this time. Donations in her memory may be made to the South Coast Humane Society.
