Obituary for Ed Davis
Ed Davis, 74, of Gold Beach, passed away at a local care facility in Gold Beach, Ore. on January 15, 2013. He was born August 4, 1938 in Eugene, Ore. Ed grew up mainly in the Willamette Valley; following high school he attended college for accounting. He quickly learned the world of finance wasn’t for him and he ultimately followed his passion by becoming a fishing guide. Ed traveled extensively throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska helping people learn to successfully hunt and fish. He moved to Gold Beach in the mid. 1980’s where he continued to guide on local rivers until just 2 years ago. Ed loved being in nature. He also enjoyed rock hunting and had collected an extensive personal rock collection. Survivors include his son Robert Davis of Springfield, Ore., his daughter Diane Goitein of Lawrenceville, New Jersey and grandchildren, Laura, Katie, Christopher, Nicole, Daniel.
