Obituary for Dorothy Mae Hugh
Dorothy Mae Hugh Dec. 1, 1926 – Aug. 6, 2010 Dorothy Mae Hugh passed away in her home in Brookings, OR on August 6, 2010. She was 83. Dorothy was born December 1, 1926 in Marion, IA, the youngest of six children to Amy and Fred Sprague. She married Lloyd Ernest Hugh in Earlville, IA on July 14, 1946. Dorothy worked primarily in the health care industry. After retiring from Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO, she moved to Brookings where she volunteered in many areas including Chetco Senior Center, hospice and home health care, all of which she thoroughly enjoyed. Survivors include her five daughters, Gail Farrell of Springfield, MO, Eleanor Cook and husband, Jim of Brookings, Linda Moses and husband, Brent of Crownsville, MD, Diane Conner and husband, Jeff of Groveton, TX and Tracey Hugh of Brookings, son, Richard Hugh and wife, Connie of Ozark, MO, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by both of her parents, three sisters, two brothers and her husband of 43 years, Lloyd Ernest Hugh. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Curry County Hospice, PO Box 382, Gold Beach, OR 97444. At Dorothy’s request, no memorial service will be held. Cremation was at Redwood Memorial Crematory.
