Don R. Derricott

Don R. Derricott, 80, of Brookings, passed away in Crescent City, Calif. on June 6, 2017.
Don was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 3, 1937. He served as a reserve in the Air National Guard there as well as attended University of Utah. Don worked as a general contractor and at the Kennecott Copper Mine. He enjoyed his time flying his ultralight exploring the Unita Mountains. He also enjoyed working his garage and fishing. Don married Carolyn Evans in 1961. They spent the last 22 years living their dream owning and operating the Riverside RV Resort on the Chetco River.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, daughters, Debbie Newsome and her husband Ladd, Lisa Derricott; brother, Keith Derricott; grandchildren, Shannon Johnson, Daniel Slaughter, Mandi Newsome, Dani Mclelland, and Kevin Newsome; five great grandchildren.
Don will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at W. J. Ward Memorial Cemetery, 1035 7th St. in Brookings.
