Among his military commendations was the Purple Heart, which he earned after stepping on a land mine. Most of his career was spent in law enforcement, including 18 years with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office. He retired in 2012. Dennis married Andrea in Gold Beach on August 23, 2008. They enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family. Dennis also had a fondness for classic cars and writing poetry. He was also active in the Vietnam Veterans of America and was currently the local chapter #757 president. He had a heart of grace and courage – he loved his family and was especially proud of his son’s military service in Iraq, his daughter’s marriage and the birth of his grandchild.
